Smart data training for parliament

Smart Data Research UK partners with House of Commons Library and POST for new training series

Smart Data Research UK is launching a new training collaboration with the House of Commons Library and the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST).

Starting in November 2025, the “Good Information Toolkit: smart data series” will run monthly until July 2026, showcasing our six data services and other key projects.

The series will provide parliamentary researchers and staff with insights into accessing and using smart data generated through everyday digital interactions – from banking data to satellite imagery. By connecting SDR UK’s data infrastructure directly with those conducting parliamentary research, the series aims to ensure evidence drawn from everyday digital interactions can support evidence-based decision-making.

The free online sessions will run on Tuesdays from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, covering topics including financial data, geographic data, healthy and sustainable places, smart energy, data donation, and satellite imagery.

If you work in parliament and would like more information and to register, search ‘Good Information Toolkit talks’ on the parliament intranet.
