Dr Michael Ball has worked in roles bridging science, strategy, and policy to support data science and research infrastructures in the Medical Research Council (MRC), Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) since joining BBSRC in 2008.

Currently serving as Associate Director of Data Science at the MRC, he oversees strategic development and management of projects, such as Health Data Research UK and UK Biobank.
